We are excited to share information about our upcoming move.

Dear Friend,

For more than 50 years, OAR of Richmond has been a place of hope, opportunity, and second chances for thousands of our neighbors returning home from incarceration. Now, as the need for our services continues to grow, OAR is taking an important next step — and we need your help to make it possible.

OAR’s Board of Directors are launching a special Capital Campaign to raise $45,000 toward a new, larger OAR facility — a welcoming, accessible space where more individuals can receive the guidance, resources, and community support they need to rebuild their lives.

And here’s the exciting news:
Every dollar you give will be matched — dollar for dollar — up to $45,000! This is thanks to a generous gift from the Mary Morton Parsons Foundation.

That means your gift of $100 becomes $200.
Your gift of $500 becomes $1,000.
Together, we can double the impact and build a stronger foundation for OAR’s future.

Our new building will allow OAR to:

  1. Expand reentry and employment programs to serve even more people;

    Offer on-site workshops, job readiness training, and family reunification support;

    Create a safe and welcoming environment where returning citizens can thrive.

For people like Chris, this new space represents more than bricks and mortar.

“OAR helped me believe that I could start again. Having a place like this—where people care and don’t judge—changes everything.”

This campaign is about more than a building. It’s about belonging, stability, and second chances.

Please consider making a generous contribution today to help OAR reach our $45,000 goal — and unlock the full matching funds. You can give securely online using the button link to the right or by mailing a check to OAR, 3111 W. Clay Street, Richmond, VA 23230.

We’re also extending the opportunity for naming rights to our three training spaces: one computer lab and two training rooms which will offer hands-on training and support to our participants.  Your gift of $5,000 or more will provide the opportunity to  name the space.

With your help, OAR’s new home will stand as a testament to what’s possible when a community believes in redemption, resilience, and hope.

Thank you for being part of this incredible journey.

With gratitude,

Sara E. Dimick Suzanne Gore, MSW, JD.
