About Jessica:
Hi, I’m Jessica! I started as an intern at OAR about nine years ago and completed my internship primarily at Richmond City Justice Center. Soon after, I joined the team at OAR as a Reentry Advocate and have been fortunate to be here ever since. Prior to my time at OAR, I earned my Human Services degree at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.
I was inspired to work in this field by my amazing mom who has worked in a homeless shelter and for the Community Service Board in Northern VA. My interest in working with this population stemmed from learning about the lack of support available to those who have been affected by the criminal legal system. I believe everyone should have a shoulder to lean on in a time of need.
Outside of work (and often during work) you will see me with my sidekick Benny- my sweet (but sometimes dramatic) Dachshund-Beagle mix.
