Like many others, I could tell America’s criminal legal system was botched. Usually, it left folks much worse off than before, and it unjustly targeted disproportionate groups of people. When I got my Master of Social Work, also at VCU, I continued to specialize in reentry and was able to score an internship at OAR - thankfully they hired me on.
