Group Facilitation:

Alcoholics Anonymous/Narcotics Anonymous

Facilitate a weekly meeting for clients seeking recovery from alcohol or drug abuse.

 

Anger Management

Help clients explore the nature of anger in order to establish a life free of violence.

 

Drum Circle

Assist with this hands-on weekly activity that provides clients an opportunity to reduce stress, learn team building, experience success from individual contributions, have fun, and feel connected to a "community". 

 

FOCUS Group

Help clients share common concerns, learn from one another, and propose solutions to daily frustrations.

 

Healthy Relationships

Teach clients relationship-building skills that lead to positive, violence-free relationships.

 

Introduction to Computers

Instruct clients in basic computer and keyboarding skills.

 

Life Without A Crutch

Help clients explore the nature of addiction and prepare for their recovery process.

 

Male Responsibility

Teach clients the skills to develop healthy attitudes and behaviors regarding relationships, marriage, employment, and family.

 

Money Management

Teach clients the basics of banking, budgeting, saving, and using credit.

 

Parenting Education for females

Help clients maintain relationships with their children and caregivers during incarceration and improve their parenting skills.

 

Responsibilities of Fatherhood

Help clients understand the financial and emotional responsibilities of fatherhood.

Second Chance Project Coach
We are currently looking for dependable and resourceful people who are interested in becoming Second Chance Coaches.  Coaches will assist program participants to successfully transition from prison back into the community, help strengthen the participants’ ability to overcome adverse situations, avoid recidivism, and become productive members of society. Coaches must be 21 years of age or older, able to model the qualities of a healthy relationship, and be able to relate to individuals with a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in a nonjudgmental way. One-to-One Activities:

GED Tutoring

Help incarcerated or released adult learners prepare for the GED exam.

 

Hairstylist/Barber/Beauty Consultant

Provide pro bono hair cuts and makeovers for recently released clients.

 

Internships

Serve as case management assistants providing direct services to clients. 

 

Mentoring 

Establish constructive relationships with clients to assist them during the reentry process from incarceration to successful community reintegration.

 

Mock Interviews

Conduct practice job interviews and provide feedback to clients seeking employment.

 

Resume Preparation

Assist clients to develop professional looking resumes for their job searches.

 

Social Reintegration Activities

Assist individual clients to explore leisure activities and introduce them to new social networking environments.

 

Special Projects:

 

Adopt-A-Client's Family for Christmas
Sponsor OAR families by donating gift cards, clothing, shoes, coats, toys, or other items.
